Alan Pardew is confident of strengthening his Newcastle squad further and hopes to bring in at least two more players.
The Magpies boss has already added Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux and Demba Ba to his ranks this summer but is also closing in on Swansea defender Neil Taylor, while Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia and Reading's Shane Long are also said to be on his wanted list. Pardew is refusing to reveal names but he is confident of adding more quality to his squad before they jet off to the United States for their pre-season tour. "We're all looking forward to getting back to work next Monday," he told the Chronical. "The squad is looking healthy and, hopefully, there are still one or two to come. "They won't be in before July 4, but we hope to get one in before the tour of America - and there could well be one after the tour." With Hatem Ben Arfa and Dan Gosling set to return from injury, Pardew's squad will be looking even stronger going into the new season.
