Reds line up Ba swoop

Liverpool are being linked with Newcastle striker Demba Ba and could include Andy Carroll as part of the deal.

Ba's future at Newcastle has been thrown into doubt after he hinted all is not well at St James' Park after being asked to play out of position, while his agent revealed they could seek a move in January if things do not improve. The comments are thought to have angered Alan Pardew and if relations become strained between now and January then a move could be on the cards when the window re-opens. Liverpool could offer the player a route out as they look to draft in at least one new striker and Carroll could be used as bait to convince Newcastle to sell. Carroll is currently on loan at West Ham but the Reds do have a recall option and could bring him back with a view to including him in the Ba deal.
