Scan boost for Toon ace

Steven Taylor has targeted a return against Stoke City after a scan on his damaged ankle showed he had only suffered bruising.
The England Under-21 centre-back could have been out for the rest of the season if he had torn ankle ligaments in last Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by Arsenal.
But he was given the all-clear last night and now hopes to be able to return to the line-up against United's relegation rivals at the Britannia Stadium in 17 days time.
Newcastle's next match, versus Chelsea a week on Saturday, will come too soon but Taylor harbours realistic hopes of being fit for the relegation showdown with Stoke seven days later.
