Spurs ready for Ba bid
Tottenham are set to make a move for Newcastle striker Demba Ba as his £7million release clause kicks in for just two months.
The 27-year-old striker has the relatively cut-price release clause in his current Magpies deal but it only runs for two months so interested parties, and there are plenty, have until July 31 to complete a deal.
Senegal ace Ba scored 16 goals for Newcastle last season and formed a great partnership with international team-mate Papiss Cisse, as a result Newcastle are desperate to keep hold of the pair of them and will fight tooth and nail to keep them.
Tottenham have been joined by Chelsea in the race for Ba who would be £3m cheaper than Emmanuel Adebayor and his wages would be considerably less.
