Toon hope for three more
Newcastle United, 12:48, August 10, 2008 ,
Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has said he expects to bring in three more new signings before the start of the Premier League.
Keegan has already brought in three new faces with Danny Guthrie, Jonas Gutierrez and Sebastien Bassong all moving to St James Park this summer.
The Magpies manager admitted that one of the three signings he hopes to complete is Fabricio Coloccini from Deportivo La Coruna, who was in the stands as Newcastle lost 2-1 to Valencia on Saturday, and he expects the defender to join in the coming week.
"I'd like to think that once [the Coloccini deal] is completed then two more players will arrive, and then we'll see what happens," Keegan revealed.
Newcastle have been linked with a number of potential signings including Sebastin Larsson from Birmingham, Carlos Cuellar from Rangers and Tottenham's Aaron Lennon.
"I think there will be a lot of comings and goings late on as clubs try to re-balance and somebody will come available who will be of interest," he added.
"I think we'll be in there pitching just like everybody else."
