Newcastle could welcome back Jose Enrique and Wayne Routledge for Saturday's game against Middlesbrough but will be without Alan Smith.
Enrique was withdrawn as a precautionary measure during last week's 6-1 victory over Barnsley having felt a tightness in his hamstring just half an hour in to his return from a seven-game lay-off with the same problem.
Routledge could return from the calf injury that has seen him miss the last three games, but Smith hasn't been as lucky with his ankle problem and will miss the trip to Teesside.
Peter Lovenkrands, Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez all look set to continue in their roles as manager Chris Hughton looks for his side to carry on their recent fine form.
"We have got a lot of players in good form at the moment. A few of the lads are probably enjoying their best spell of the season and that is very pleasing," Hughton.
"Yes, we are fortunate to have a few of the lads really at the top of their game right now, but we are going to need every player between now and the end of the season if we are going to achieve our goal of promotion."
