Toon stand firm on Carroll

Newcastle United, 11:50, January 29, 2011

Newcastle have rejected a £23million bid for striker Andy Carroll from Spurs according to the latest reports.

Spurs have been chasing Carroll throughout the transfer window and the north London outfit have seen their move dismissed by Newcastle.
Boss Alan Pardew has always maintained he is desperate to keep hold of Carroll and the club's other stars and Newcastle have turned down Spurs' approach.
The transfer window slams shut at 11pm on Monday night and Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp may yet make another move for Carroll, who is currently sidelined with a thigh injury.
The 22-year-old, who has scored 11 league goals so far this season, made his England debut in November and Newcastle are expected to reject any move for Carroll, with the striker tied down to a long term deal at St James' Park.

We should offer them Dosantos and Palacios or Pav Kranjcar plus money.

I'm glad Newcastle rejected spurs bid. I don't want that hooligan in a lily-white shirt.

Please stay at CarToon. Nowhere near the price being mooted, a more realistic valuation would be a straight swap with Keane.
