Ajax have told Newcastle they have no chance of landing midfielder Vurnon Anita unless they make an improved offer.
The player's agent has claimed that Newcastle had a 5million euros offer rejected and now Ajax technical manager Wim Jonk says the player will not be leaving unless their valuation is met. Wonk claims there have been no fresh offers for the 23-year-old, who can also play at full-back, and says talks will not begin until the right money is offered. "We have not received another offer," Jonk revealed. "Therefore, Anita will not be leaving us. "We will not negotiate, unless Newcastle comes with a better bid. Right now, there isn't any contact, but that's normal for English clubs, who are always very late with their transfers." Norwich City are also keen but that was when Paul Lambert was in charge and there is a chance Aston Villa could now also enter the running after the Scot moved to the Midlands.
