Butterworth quits

Norwich City, 18:34, August 19, 2009 ,

Ian Butterworth has resigned from his position as assistant manager at Norwich following the appointment of Paul Lambert.

Butterworth returned to the club as part of Bryan Gunn's backroom team back in February and took charge of first-team affairs for the games against Exeter and Brentford after Gunn was sacked.
However following the arrival of Lambert as the club's new boss Butterworth has now decided to resign.
"Obviously things have not worked out during my time here in difficult circumstances and I obviously felt the new coaching team wouldn't want me hanging about," he revealed.
"Therefore I have taken the decision that it is right for all parties for me to move on."
