Canaries bounce back in style
Norwich City, 11:09, August 12, 2009 ,
Bryan Gunn has hailed the character in the Norwich squad as they hammered Yeovil 4-0 at Huish Park in the Carling Cup.
The Canaries boss took a hammering of his own following the humiliating 7-1 defeat at home to Colchester on Saturday but City bounced back in fine style to book their place in the second round.
New boy Grant Holt was the hero when bagging a hat-trick but Gunn was delighted with his entire squad as they banished the memory of Saturday's record defeat.
"Obviously we made a few changes," said Gunn. "The character the players showed tonight in light of what happened on Saturday, I knew what we would get - we didn't get it until the end of the game but certainly the season starts now.
"We have four days to prepare for the Exeter game and it is something we are delighted about.
"We looked for a reaction from Saturday and it could have gone two ways. We could have come down to Yeovil and not applied ourselves on the pitch, but certainly tonight the 11 that started and the three subs that came on all applied themselves."
