Canaries hit by Kienast injury

Norwich City, 16:52, November 19, 2008

Trialist striker Roman Kienast's hopes of securing a deal with Norwich have been hit by a hamstring injury he picked up on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old Austrian international, who is currently on loan with Helsingborgs IF from Ham-Kam, appeared to have suffered a problem with his hamstring just 18 minutes into the Canaries' reserves' 4-2 win against Arsenal's youngsters in a friendly clash at Carrow Road.

Kienast, who is aiming to impress City boss Glenn Roeder enough to earn a contract, has now returned home for treatment on the injury.

"I pulled it and couldn't play anymore," he told Hamar Arbeidarblad. "This sums up my 2008 footballing year pretty well.

"I'm going home to Vienna for treatment. I'm aiming to be back at 100 per cent in January."
