Clarets waiting on Canaries swoop
Burnley claim they have not had an approach from Norwich City about signing midfielder Chris McCann in this transfer window.
The new Canaries chief Chris Hughton has been linked with a swoop for the 24-year-old as he looks to put his stamp on the squad he inherited from Paul Lambert last month.
However the Championship side insist that they have not had any offers from Norwich or any other club at this moment in time. And, it is thought Clarets boss Eddie Howe is not keen on offloading another key player from his squad after selling striker Jay Rodriguez to Southampton in a £7million deal.
But, with McCann now entering the final year of his contract at Turf Moor, Burnley might feel they will have to sell the player if he refuses to extend his stay otherwise they face the prospect of losing him on a Bosman free transfer next summer.
If he does not sign then Hughton would no doubt feel confident of being able to entice McCann to Carrow Road with an offer of around £2million, while Stoke City have also been linked with a move for his services.
