Norwich have opened talks with Anderlecht's Argentinian defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia over a move to Carrow Road.
The 26-year-old is the latest player to be targeted by Canaries chief Chris Hughton as he continues to rebuild the squad he inherited from Paul Lambert earlier in the summer. The former Newcastle and Birmingham chief has already drafted in defensive acquisitions such as Michael Turner, Steven Whittaker, Jacob Butterfield, Javier Garrido and Sebastian Bassong, while midfielder Robert Snodgrass arrived from Leeds. And Hughton has now moved to add another midfield option in the form of Biglia, who has spent most of his career in Belgium with Anderlecht, where he has made almost 250 appearances since 2006. The tough-tackling player, who is looking for a move to one of Europe's top leagues, has been watched by Real Madrid and it was recently claimed he could be on his way to Arsenal as a replacement for Barcelona-bound Alex Song. It is reported that Biglia would cost around £6million to take him from the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.
