Norwich are thought to have made a player-plus-cash offer for Celtic full-back Emilio Izaguirre worth in the region of £5million.
Canaries boss Chris Hughton is keen to improve his defensive options and is looking for someone who could take over from Marc Tierney at left-back. Honduras international Izaguirre has shone since joining Celtic in 2010 and last summer was linked with a move to Manchester United. Hughton is hoping to have more success than Sir Alex Ferguson did in persuading the left-back to move south of the border, the Norwich head coach offering £5million plus James Vaughan. Celtic boss Neil Lennon has a long-standing admiration of Vaughan and could be persuaded to part with Izaguirre, who has reportedly become disillusioned with life in the SPL following the demise of Rangers.
