Norwich have been linked with a summer move for Birmingham City centre-back Curtis Davies - but will face competition from Reading.

The Canaries are understood to be targeting Davies as boss Paul Lambert looks to add proven Premier League quality to his squad in a bid to strengthen City's position in the top flight next season. Davies, 27, cost Aston Villa almost £10million when they snapped him up from West Brom in 2007 but he flopped there and was shipped out on loan to Leicester City before Birmingham paid under £4million for him last year. Reading boss Brian McDermott is also sniffing about for the ex-Luton Town youth player while he could remain at St Andrew's if Birmingham City join Norwich in the Premier League via the playoffs. Davies has just been voted into the PFA Championship team of the season after scoring five goals and making more than 50 appearances for the Blues.
