Nottingham Forest manager Sean O'Driscoll has hailed the arrival of new defender Danny Collins.

The 31-year-old signed a three-year deal at the City Ground this week after making the switch from Stoke. "We want to sign players with character and Danny has got that and we want to sign players who know the Championship and have been promoted - he has done that three times," O'Driscoll told the club's official website. "He knows all about the journey from the Championship to the Premier League, which is important, and he has got ability. "I know Tony Pulis from my days at Bournemouth and he gave Danny a glowing reference. He was keen to come here and it's a good challenge for him. "When you are putting together a completely new back four the two central defenders are key and he will be a good asset to the team."
