Stoke midfielder Glenn Whelan has ruled out a move to Plymouth or Nottingham Forest and insists he wants to stay with the Potters.
Forest are known to be keen on the player as they look to bolster their survival chances while Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock has been keen on him for some time.
Whelan has been out of the Potters side since winning promotion to the Premiership but got a rare outing in the Carling Cup againsth Rotherham. The midfielder now wants to stay with Stoke and that is bad news for Forest and Argyle.
Whelan explained: "I think I'm more than capable of forcing myself back into the team here.
"I will just work hard and we'll see how it goes from there. If you ask any player here they want to play every game, but obviously that's not possible this year.
"We've got a big squad and a lot of talented players so I'll just wait for my chance. If I work hard and keep doing well then I'm sure my time will come."
