Nottingham Forest have confirmed they have launched an appeal against the red card shown to Garath McCleary during the victory over Peterborough on Monday.
McCleary was sent off after 70 minutes of the 1-0 win at London Road following a challenge on Posh captain Grant McCann. Immediately after the npower Championship fixture, Reds boss Steve Cotterill said he felt referee Carl Boyeson was "hasty" in making the decision and that he would be "amazed" if the sending off was not rescinded. Should the decision be overturned, McCleary will be available for the home game against Blackpool on Saturday. If not, the 24-year-old winger will serve a three-match suspension - meaning he would only be available for the final game of the season against Portsmouth at the City Ground on April 28.
