Rivals blast midfielder bid

Preston have blasted reports suggesting that Nottingham Forest have made another improved bid for Paul McKenna.
Forest boss Billy Davies has made McKenna one of his top targets of the summer and he is known to have failed with at least two bids for the veteran midfielder.
However, North End chairman Derek Shaw has played down reports claiming he has received a third bid - this time of £750,000.
He revealed: "We've heard nothing from them regarding Paul for several weeks now, sometimes I just don't know where these stories come from."
