Oldham will welcome back defender Jean Yves M'voto for the visit of Preston.
Former Sunderland centre-back M'voto was dismissed for two bookable offences in the 1-0 home defeat to Charlton but served a two-match ban due to his sending-off at Scunthorpe earlier in the season.
Midfielder James Wesolowski and goalkeeper Alex Cisak are making good progress from their shoulder injuries but are unlikely to be risked before the end of the season.
Chris Taylor (ankle) is set to remain on the sidelines for Latics, who are six points above the relegation zone ahead of what boss Paul Dickov expects to be a tricky contest.
"It's going to be a tough game for us," he said. "They are coming off the back of a fantastic result and performance against Huddersfield so we know it's going to be tough for us.
"Our aim has to be to try and take nine points out of nine. We've got three games left and, as much as we're looking over our shoulders a little bit, a win on Saturday can possibly move us up four or five places with two games left and we've got an aim of still finishing in the top half."
