Nathan Cleverly will return to the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on 27th October to fight Ukraine's Vyacheslav Uzelkov.
The Welsh fighter will be making the fourth defence of his WBO light-heavyweight title following his unanimous points decision over Tommy Karpency of America in February.
Vyacheslav is currently ranked No 9 by the WBO, four by the WBA and seven by the IBF, and in 2010 floored WBA champion Beibut Shumenov before losing on points when challenging for the title.
"I had a brilliant reception at the Motorpoint Arena in February which was my first fight in Wales for over four years, and the fans came out to support me so it's great to return again for another big fight night in the capital," said Cleverly.
Frank Warren had originally agreed terms with Golden Boy Promotions for Bernard Hopkins to face Cleverly, but the American legend later withdrew and is unlikely to fight again this year.
Warren also revealed that IBF champion Carl Froch turned down the chance of stepping up from super-middleweight to fight Cleverly, while another domestic rival, Tony Bellew, who fights Edison Miranda at London's Alexandra Palace on Saturday, did not want a rematch.
The promoter said: "It's proved frustrating as we had Hopkins lined up and then he pulled out and Shumenov didn't want to come over here to fight Cleverly, plus Froch and Bellew didn't want to know."
