Dale Oen found dead after cardiac arrest
Norway's swimming federation has said that champion Alexander Dale Oen has died at a training camp in the US, aged 26.
Dale Oen was found collapsed in a shower on Monday after training in Flagstaff, Arizona with officials confirming he had suffered cardiac arrest, and emergency services had been unable to revive him.
The swim star had been one of Norway's greatest hopes for Olympic success this summer, having picked up the bronze medal in Beijing four years ago.
He also swam to world glory with the fourth-fastest time in history as he claimed gold in the 100m breast stroke in the World Championships in Shanghai last July.
"We are all in shock...our thoughts go primarily to his family who have lost Alexander way too early," said Norwegian Coach Petter Loevberg.
