Amir Khan has finally put an end to weeks of speculation by confirming he has parted company with trainer Freddie Roach.

The 25-year-old has been weighing up whether to continue his partnership with the well respected Roach since he suffered a second consecutive defeat against Danny Garcia in July.
The loss of his WBA light-welterweight title to Garcia came after he had been beaten by Lamont Peterson in a controversial bout last December in Washington.
in the immediate aftermath of his fight against Garcia Khan said he was keen to stay loyal to Roach, who had guided the British fighter to two world titles since taking over his training in 2008.
However, Khan is thought to have become unhappy with the amount of time Roach spent with other fighters, with reports indicating he felt shunned in comparison to Manny Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Khan confirmed the split on his Twitter feed on Friday night, revealing he plans to appoint his next trainer on Saturday.
"Officially iv left freddie roach. Just spoke to his and had a good professional chat and maybe in the future we work together," he tweeted.
