Enzo Maccarinelli is to relaunch his career at light-heavyweight - and could fight Nathan Cleverly - it has been announced.
The former WBO cruiserweight champion has suffered three demoralising defeats in his last six fights - including to Alexander Frenkel for the EBU title last time out - but insists he has lost none of his desire in the ring.
The move will see the 30-year-old from Swansea, known as 'Big Mac', drop down to 175lbs and puts him on course to fight Welsh countryman Cleverly.
"Although I have made a few mistakes in recent years, I still want to be a fighter," said Maccarinelli.
"We've had some really good Welsh fighters on the scene in the last couple of years but between Joe's Calzaghe retirement and myself it has slowed down a little.
"But now there are these young guys coming through and I am coming back to fight in the light-heavyweight division because my desire is still strong."
