Mayweather drops De La Hoya hint
Other Sports, 10:53, November 25, 2008 ,
Floyd Mayweather has admitted money will decide whether he trains Ricky Hatton or Oscar De La Hoya for their proposed super-fight.
Mayweather, 53, helped Hatton mastermind the stoppage of IBF light-welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at the weekend, but said after: "Who will I train...Oscar or Ricky? Whoever pays me most."
Hatton and De La Hoya could meet in a Wembley welterweight showdown next year - but first the American legend must see off superstar Manny Pacquiao on December 6 in Las Vegas.
Mayweather added: "De La Hoya would be a very tough fight for Ricky because Oscar has the natural weight advantage - but it is winnable.
"If I don't train one of them, someone will do it. If it happens, it happens. Ricky is a better fighter than Oscar but there is the issue of who is the bigger man in the ring.
"Pacquiao is a perfect match for Ricky. I would love to see that fight but I don't see Manny beating Oscar on December 6.
"But Pacman v Ricky is the more logical fight. Oscar has the weight and the reach advantage over Ricky."
