Great Britain's Paralympic team have been officially welcomed into the athletes' village at London 2012.

The 300 members of the Great British team were welcomed into the village on Tuesday in a celebration conducted by 12-time Paralympic champion Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, and chef de mission Craig Hunter praised the ceremony. "What an amazing reception, and that's really, really special for the team," Hunter said. The Paralympics will officially begin on Wednesday evening with the opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium set for 9pm. "If that was how special the team welcome ceremony was going to be, then clearly tomorrow night for the opening ceremony is going to be amazing and then 11 days of fantastic competition," Hunter added. "It was superb for us, because it was the one opportunity for nearly the whole team to be together. "A lot of the athletes won't be able to march tomorrow evening because they'll be concentrating on their competition."
