Lamont Peterson has said it is wrong for everyone to call him a cheat and insists he will not give up his title belts.

The American boxer controversially beat Amir Khan last December to win the WBA and IBF belts, with the pair set for a rematch this Saturday in Las Vegas. However, the fight has now been called off after Peterson tested positive for synthetic testosterone with the authorities set to meet on June 13 to determine his fate. Peterson insists that he was given treatment for abnormally low testosterone levels and was unaware he was doing anything wrong, and is now hoping that the ruling goes in his favour. "Let the commission decide, let the sanctioning bodies decide," he said. "Until that point I'm still the champ. "If the procedure I done is what gave me the dirty urine, then what else can I say? I made a mistake. "That's all I can say. Apologise for it and try and move on with my career. "But I think it's wrong for anyone to call me a cheat."
