Phil Taylor secured a sixth Premier League crown with a 10-7 victory over Simon Whitlock after surviving a fightback from 'The Wizard'.

'The Power' looked on course for an easy win when he went 5-1 and then 7-2 up against his Australian opponent, only to allow Whitlock back into the match at the O2 Arena in London.
Whitlock, who had a nine-dart finish in the semi-finals, moved back into contention at 7-5 before Taylor missed three darts at 20 as the Wizard levelled the match at 7-7, seemingly taking the momentum in the contest.
However, Whitlock blew the chance to take the lead on the Taylor throw and the 13-time world champion went 8-7 ahead before securing a break in the next on the Aussie's throw.
Taylor then regained the Premier League title for the first time since 2010 with a 73 checkout and admitted he was delighted to have secured the title.
"I am absolutely made up," Taylor told Sky Sports. "He came back at me there and I thought 'I hope he's used up all his energy to come back at me.'
"I just kept thinking 'You've got the darts, so just keep winning your throw.' And I pushed in front and he let me in a little bit.
"It was a strange game. Neither of us were at our best, but we tried very hard, both of us."
