Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony is confident manager Darren Ferguson will find a suitable replacement for George Boyd in the summer.

News emerged at the start of this week that fans' favourite Boyd, who has one year remaining on his current contract, has turned down the offer of a new deal at London Road and will now be sold at the end of the season. Top scorer Paul Taylor is also expected to leave Posh in the summer after rejecting the offer of a new contract, but MacAnthony has backed Ferguson to build another successful team. "I adore Boydy and always will but players don't usually spend most of their career at one club. That's life and we adapt," said MacAnthony via social networking site Twitter. "And, as usual, we have plans in place for when we lose quality players. I am very excited about these plans as is the gaffer. Trust us. "Once the season finishes it will be a long summer, but an exciting one as we strengthen our squad. Trust us to do so. We will be strong next season. Remember no-one is indispensable and there is plenty of talent out there that we have a knack of unearthing." MacAnthony added: "Plus, it's important to know those players who turned down new deals are fantastic people who will still give their all for this club."
