Cooper keeps the faith

Peterborough United, 16:41, January 27, 2010

Peterborough boss Mark Cooper feels his side were unlucky to lose against Preston and believes they can avoid relegation.

Former Posh boss Darren Ferguson led his side to a 1-0 victory at London Road on Tuesday night but Cooper feels his side were unlucky not to come away from the fixture with anything.

Cooper's side are nine points adrift of safety and sit at the bottom of the Championship table, Posh haven't won for six matches but Cooper believes they have the ability to stay in the division.

He said: : "It wasn't about me and Darren (Ferguson), it was about Peterborough against Preston, 11 v 11 and on the night Preston won.

"(It was) probably a little bit against the run of play. I thought we deserved something out of the game, but it wasn't to be and we go again on Saturday.

"We've got to keep going, keep believing, see if we can find that little bit of quality in and around the final third of the pitch when we get in the box and go up to Crystal Palace (on Saturday) and get three points."
