Posh boss eyes safety mission

Peterborough United, 14:39, February 17, 2010 ,

Jim Gannon believes Peterborough can still survive relegation from the Championship following Tuesday's 3-1 home win against Ipswich.

The Posh boss watched as his side battled back from a 1-0 half time deficit at London Road to pick up three vital points thanks to second half goals from Liam Dickinson, midfielder Lee Frecklington and defender Craig Morgan. And, despite Posh still being nine points off the final position of safety, Gannon is not giving up hope of pulling off a great escape.
"In the second half we had more tempo and certainly did enough," he said.
"I just reminded them at the break about what we have been working on and we played my way after the break.
"I have learned a lot in my short time here and if we play like that for the majority of the remaining games then we will give ourselves a chance."
