Manager shake-up confirmed
Plymouth Argyle, 11:19, December 10, 2009 ,
Plymouth have replaced manager Paul Sturrock with head coach Paul Mariner taking over the running of the first-team squad.
Sturrock will take on a new role at the club after meeting directors in the wake of the 1-0 defeat away to Swansea City on Tuesday night.
The former Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday manager has been under growing pressure over recent weeks, with Argyle slipping to 23rd place in the Championship after three consecutive 1-0 defeats.
Mariner, 56, was only appointed as head coach at Home Park in October, after leaving American Major League Soccer's New England Revolution - who were MLS runners up in 2006 and 2007.
