No striker bids - Sturrock

Plymouth Argyle, 19:29, August 29, 2008

Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock says there has been interest in Jermaine Easter but insists no-one has made a firm offer for him.

Sturrock is happy to let Easter move on after he handed in a transfer request but so far no clubs have made a bid for the player. The Pilgrims boss will wait to see what happens between now and the transfer window closing but will tell the player he has to knuckle down at Home Park if he does not get a move.

Sturrock told the club's official website: "Several clubs have phoned me but nothing solid. Jermaine has made it clear about the standards he wants to achieve.

"There is a conversation we may have to have after the window closes.

"If we don't have any offers, Jermaine will be brought into my office and told point-blank, that as far as I am concerned, his job is to perform to the standards I know he can achieve for the benefit of the football club that pays him."
