Carl Fletcher was delighted his Plymouth side were able to emerge from the Devon derby with a goalless draw against Torquay.

The Pilgrims boss had anticipated a tough time at Plainmoor against the unbeaten Gulls, and praised his side's resilience as they earned a share of the spoils. Fletcher said: "We knew it was going to be a tough game coming away to Torquay because they don't lose many games at home, and they have got a good side. "We looked a bit nervous in the first half and didn't want to make that mistake, but second half I thought we played really well. "We got hold of the ball, we passed it around and on another day we could have nicked a goal. I was really pleased with the way the lads performed second half." He added: "We are improving every time we play and if you get good results then you build confidence."
