Plymouth in the hunt for Saints striker

Plymouth Argyle, 15:18, June 15, 2009 ,

Plymouth are hopeful of completing the signing of Bradley Wright-Phillips with the striker heading to Home Park for talks this week.

The former Manchester City forward left Southampton at the end of last season after the club failed to meet the 24-year-old's wage demands and is now available on a free transfer.
Wright-Phillips is thought to be attracting the attention of a number of other Championship clubs but is set to meet Paul Sturrock at Home Park this week to discuss the possibility of him joining the Pilgrims.
Plymouth will be hoping that current Jason Puncheon could persuade Wright-Phillips to join the club as the two know each other from their time growing up in south-east London.
