Rivals play down transfer swoop

Plymouth Argyle, 12:32, November 20, 2008 ,

Plymouth have not made a move to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher according to Eagles boss Neil Warnock.

The Pilgrims were in the hunt to sign Fletcher last summer but then dropped all interest in the Wales international after snapping up Simon Walton in a record deal from QPR.
However, Walton has struggled to impress which has kicked off fresh reports suggesting Paul Sturrock could go back in for Fletcher, something which has been denied by Warnock.
"I've not spoken to them," Warnock revealed. "I would let him go on loan if they asked me to but they've not asked me to so it's a new story to me unless somebody knows something I don't know."
