Paul Sturrock has four strikers available for selection ahead of Plymouth's game against Cardiff City at Home Park on Saturday evening.
The Pilgrims boss was impressed with Rory Fallon and Emile Mpenza in last weekend's 1-0 win at Coventry and could opt to field the duo once again against the Bluebirds for the televised encounter. However top scorer Paul Gallagher has completed a one-match suspension and is vying for a return, while Steve MacLean is fit after replacing Mpenza at the Ricoh Arena last Saturday.
On Gallagher, who has scored five times since arriving on a season-long loan from Blackburn Rovers at the end of August, Sturrock told the Herald: "You always miss a quality player like him because he has got attributes that benefit the team.
"Now the decision is whether to bring him back or not this Saturday. There's going to be a lot of soul searching over the next two or three days."
On MacLean's prospects, he added: "I thought Steve was excellent when he came on. He really helped us in the last 10 to 15 minutes.
"He kept the ball and ran down channels.
"I had a long chat with him about it yesterday and he's showing the right determination and attitude now.
"All we need now is the icing on the cake, where he pops up with the goals that I know are in him."
