Loft given armband

Port Vale have named Doug Loft as the club's new captain.

The midfielder takes the armband from Marc Richards who departed Vale Park for Chesterfield in May. Loft joined Vale in 2009 on a free transfer from Brighton and has made 105 league appearances for the Burslem club. The 25-year-old has a year remaining on his contract.
