Vale sale open to other offers

Administrators at Port Vale have revealed they are now talking to other interested parties after Keith Ryder's proposed takeover was not completed on Monday.

A statement on the club's official website from Bob Young, a representative from Begbies-Traynor acting on behalf of Port Vale, confirmed that Ryder remains a potential candidate to take over at Vale Park, but that they are now offering the opportunity to other groups. Young said: "We feel that we have given Keith every opportunity to complete and it is regrettable that this hasn't happened. "We initially gave him a deadline of the end of June, which was then extended to July 6. "We are now offering the opportunity to buy the club to other groups."
