Vale wait on Tomlinson

It remains to be seen whether Stuart Tomlinson will return to the Port Vale squad against champions-elect Swindon at the County Ground.

Tomlinson was taken ill ahead of the re-arranged game at Shrewsbury 10 days ago so Chris Martin received a late call-up. Tomlinson remained absent against Bristol Rovers last weekend so Martin kept his place in goal. Should Tomlinson return, manager Micky Adams may still decide to stick with Martin after hinting that he could give his fringe players and the club's youngsters a chance in the remaining two matches this season. Rob Taylor made his first appearance for just over a month as a substitute during the 1-0 home win over Rovers and the winger-cum-full-back could be involved again. Midfielders Paul Marshall, Sam Morsy and Kingsley James and striker Ben Williamson are options for Adams should he wish to make any changes but defender Clayton McDonald (hamstring) remains a doubt.
