Port Vale have players nursing knocks ahead of the trip to Morecambe.
Defenders Clayton McDonald, Adam Yates - a former Shrimp - and striker Tom Pope are those players in question but manager Micky Adams is confident their problems are nothing too serious. "There were a few feeling sorry for themselves towards the end of the Macclesfield game on Monday," said Adams. "Clayton McDonald managed another 90 minutes, although I don't know how he has done that with his hamstring. "Tom Pope was looking at me with his puppy-dog eyes about his ankle and it was the same with Yatesy over his shoulder. But they've had a couple of days of rest to recuperate and we go again on Saturday." Should McDonald succumb to his hamstring problem, teenager Joe Davis is likely to step in at centre-half. Striker Ben Williamson and midfielder Sam Morsy and Chris Shuker - another former Morecambe man - are options should Adams wish to make changes.
