Boss' selection worry

Portsmouth, 11:20, November 26, 2008

Forgotton men Kanu and Hermann Hreidarsson are both likely to come into the side for the clash with AC Milan on Thursday.

Both men are out of contract at the end of the season and neither have featured in the team of late with both men struggling for first-team places this season.

Boss Tony Adams is without Jermain Defoe and Lassana Diarra while Sol Campbell and Niko Kranjcar face a race against time to declare themselves fit and on top of the injuries neither Lauren and David Nugent are available as they are not registered.

He said: "At the moment we have a lot of games so everybody's going to get opportunities.

"A few of them are playing for contracts as well which is great. It just so happens that the ones who did get involved in the run last year will maybe get an opportunity in the Uefa Cup.

"To be fair to Hermann, I need to have another look at him. He's a great clubman, he's always out there training and wants to play so we'll have to see.

"As for Kanu, I may play him alongside Peter Crouch. That could work for us. I don't see why two big guys can't work together.

"I remember big Teddy (Sheringham) playing with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and at times Kanu played with Dennis Bergkamp.

"I just don't want to play anyone who is not 100 per cent, it doesn't do them or you justice."
