Crouch 'disappointed' at Pompey

Portsmouth, 13:45, June 14, 2009 ,

Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch has voiced his concern at the current state of affairs at the south coast club.

Pompey are in the process of being taken over by property billionaire Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim but the drawn-out process has left the club with no manager and uncertainties surrounding the future of some of the club's star players.
Crouch said: "There are 15 players out of contract at the end of the season - no one knows who the manager is, we don't even know who the owner is to be honest.
"So anyone who is at the club wants reassurances about what is going to happen in the summer. And I'll certainly be asking. I need to find out."
The 28-year-old has been linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in recent weeks and Crouch has admitted he is concerned for the future of his current employers.
He added: "I'm really disappointed to be honest. We had Harry (Redknapp), we had Jermain Defoe and Lassana Diarra, we were in Europe and there were ambitions for the club going forward."
The big frontman has ambitions to represent England at the World Cup next summer but Crouch feels he has less chance of getting into Fabio Capello's squad if Pompey are struggling at the wrong end of the table.
"If I'm going to have a chance of playing for England, I need to be playing well," said Crouch. "What I don't need is to be fighting relegation."
Punters who feel Pompey will indeed be battling the drop next season can use their free bet on the Fratton Park side facing the drop in the 2009/10 campaign.
