Crouch remains key for Pompey

Portsmouth, 13:51, June 25, 2009 ,

Executive chairman Peter Storrie says Portsmouth are not planning to sell striker Peter Crouch this summer.

Crouch has expressed his frustration at the club's uncertain future in recent weeks and has been linked with a move to both Sunderland and Blackburn, amongst others.
But Storrie says they have not received any bids for the England international and he remains a key part of the first-team squad.
He said: "Peter's one of our major assets. He's someone we want to keep and build a team around."
Meanwhile, Sol Campbell is reportedly wanted by Greek club Atromitos and are ready to offer the defender a two-year deal.
The former Spurs and Arsenal star is out of contract at the end of the month and is set to end his career elsewhere with plenty of interest from sides both in England and abroad.
