Portsmouth striker Marko Futacs looks set to leave Fratton Park after boss Michael Appleton admitted the club cannot offer him a better contract.

The Hungarian's current deal ran out on Sunday and he is unhappy with the new terms offered to him last month. Futacs, 22, has failed to meet the club's deadline for a decision and Appleton admits he will not work beyond the club's limits. "I am not sure where we stand with Marko," Appleton told The News. "We cannot increase our offer. That won't be happening. But I know his agent very well and will be speaking to him about the situation. "The offer we made was a good one, a very good one, and we won't be going any higher."
