Grant to bring back duo
Portsmouth, 09:00, February 9, 2010 ,
Aruna Dindane and Hassan Yebda are set to return to the Portsmouth side against Sunderland on Tuesday after being rested at Man United.
Pompey boss Avram Grant kept the key duo on the sidelines on Saturday as his team were crushed 5-0 at Old Trafford to leave them six points adrift at the foot of the Premier League. However both will be back in contention for an arguably more winnable game against Steve Bruce's out-of-sorts Black Cats team at Fratton Park.
Kevin-Prince Boateng and Anthony Vanden Borre are doubtful after both limped off against United so Steve Finnan should return at right-back, while John Utaka could feature following his hamstring injury. However Papa Bouba Diop is still sidelined for the must-win fixture.
Pompey have already defeated Sunderland on home soil in the FA Cup fourth round and Grant is hopeful the players returning to the side can inspire them to three points.
He told the club's website: "I thought we needed to keep some players fresh because we've played a lot of games recently.
"We changed the team and it will be different again on Tuesday."
On Pompey's survival hopes Grant added: "There are 14 games to go and we need to take as many points as possible from our next few games. Our upcoming games are against sides who are around us in the table.
"We are not playing worse than the sides in mid-table but they're taking points and we're not. We need to continue with the good performances but also add some points."
