Hreidarsson agent in future hint

Portsmouth, 13:55, June 21, 2009 ,

Hermann Hreidarsson's agent has dropped a big hint the Portsmouth defender is ready to sign a new one-year deal at Fratton Park.

The Iceland international is out of contract but has been offered a new 12-month extension, with the club keen to keep at least some of their experienced players ahead of next season.
The player's agent, Olafur Gardarsson, says the 34-year-old is attracting interest from other clubs, including some overseas, but it seems his preferred outcome would be to stay at Fratton Park as he is settled on the south coast.
"Hermann has been offered another year with Portsmouth. But he also has many offers from clubs in the Championship, Premier League and also from teams in other countries," Gardarsson told The News.
"We are in discussions at the moment, and we are hopeful they will be concluded one way or the other very soon."
He added: "We would certainly like it sorted quickly, and I think that will be the case. Hermann is settled in the area and likes it at Portsmouth very much.
"He also has a strong relationship with the supporters, which is important to him."
The defender has been linked with Ipswich, Reading and the SPL's big two, Rangers and Celtic, in recent weeks.
