Loan ace set for rapid Pompey return

Portsmouth, 09:56, March 4, 2010 ,

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie could return from injury ahead of Portsmouth's FA Cup home tie against Birmingham but Jamie O'Hara is struggling.

On-loan 23-year-old winger Owusu-Abeyie, who was a key part of the 4-1 win against deadly South Coast rivals Southampton in the previous round, looked set to miss this weekend's quarter-final showdown at Fratton Park after limping off at Burnley last week due to a groin problem.
However the former Arsenal man has made a dramatic recovery and Pompey's first-team coach Paul groves is hopeful that he can face Alex McLeish's Blues this weekend.
He told The News: "Quincy had a scan on Monday and there's not too much saying he is going to be out for a long period of time.
"He did a little bit of work on Tuesday and it will now be how he reacts to that work.
"Hopefully he'll come through without any real reaction. Then he can progress forward and join in with full training.
"If there is a reaction it may keep him out of this weekend's game. But there's certainly a possibility he could feature at this moment in time."
Meanwhile loan midfielder O'Hara has revealed on social networking website Twitter that he is racing to be fit for the game due to a back injury, while Belgian right-back Anthony Vanden Borre will miss his fifth game due to a hamstring problem.
