Pompey line up new boss ahead of United test
Portsmouth, 10:50, November 26, 2009 ,
Avram Grant remains in line to take the Portsmouth job as the south coast outfit prepare to host Manchester United on Saturday.
Paul Hart was sacked earlier this week following a disappointing start to the season and the suggestions are that former Chelsea boss Grant will be moved from his role as director of football and appointed full-time team manager at Fratton Park.
Following Hart's exit Portsmouth did say they hoped to appoint a new boss quickly and, with former Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson also in the frame, someone could even be in the hot-seat when the champions visit this weekend.
United lost for the first time in the Champions League at home in the group stages since 2001 when Besiktas came away from Old Trafford with a 1-0 win on Wednesday, and boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking for his title challengers to bounce back on Saturday.
However, with a new manager to impress, Pompey may just fancy their chances of an upset at Fratton Park and punters using a free bet might consider backing them to claim at least a point against Fergie's men.
