Tonge ready to face the Toon

Preston North End, 15:40, November 23, 2009 ,

Midfielder Michael Tonge could make his debut for Preston against Newcastle at Deepdale on Monday following his loan move from Stoke.

North End boss Alan Irvine swooped to take the 26-year-old to the Lancashire outfit until December 28 after his failure to secure a place in the Potters side in the Premier League this season. And he is set to pitch Tonge into action against the Magpies for the televised clash.
The former Sheffield United star will be looking to help North End secure their first win in four matches and prevent the visitors from regaining top spot in the Championship.
Irvine is still without midfielder Barry Nicholson as the Scot continues his recovery from a broken leg he picked up during the 2-0 victory over Peterborough in August.
